Farmers First Bank

Farmers First Bank requested a complete makeover of its current branch bank space in the Park City Mall. The typically long and narrow retail type interior required the reuse of the existing massive bank vault located in the middle of the floor plan. The new design organizes customer service and automated banking amenities at the pedestrian opening to the space. A succession of glass enclosed banking offices and soft seating orient the visitor to the teller area toward the back of the space adjacent to the vault. The vault is illuminated by lighting focused on a custom crazy quilt commissioned for the branch as part of the art program. The design addresses innovative personal service and automated banking concepts.

Changing ceiling planes and materiality, opaque and transparent partitions, and a palette of colorful earth tones modulate areas of public and private banking functions. Custom millwork and marketing displays, Knoll Systems and Studio furniture selection and procurement, and the coordination of the art program provide for a cohesive modern design aesthetic and distinctive branch bank appearance among the neighboring retail tenants of the mall. Construction activities were fast tracked with extended work hours over a period of 12 weeks while temporary banking space was utilized to maintain uninterrupted service to bank customers.
