Sited alongside the Wyomissing Creek Park System in a pastoral setting, and completed over two phases of construction, cottage dwellings were designed by K&KA for the life care community known as The Highlands at Wyomissing. Three cottage prototypes are combined in a manner that responds to the rolling hillside topography resulting in seven varied duplex designs. Two-bedroom and three-bedroom units combine to form courtyard entrances for the cottage pairings that are aesthetically reminiscent of Berks County rural vernacular architecture. The dwelling units feature 1 1/2-story family room and dining spaces with a large centralized brick-masonry fireplace trimmed with glazed hand molded tile.
